Roots Architecture 2012

2012's Roots Architecture@WOMAD brought new participants to the workshops. The young Norwegian-English WRKSHP travelled from Trondheim (and London) continuing the Nordic connection of the previous two years.

And after various left messages and meetings the UK chapter of Architecture for Humanity were finally inducted into things RAW at the 2012 pow-wow. Also new to the turf were the engineering charity Article 25, who led one of the making teams. The brief for 2012 was The City, which resulted in an apparitional urban zone within Charlton Park, including AFH's Upside Down City.

Core team steadfasts like Sally and Marcus from tangentfield, Charley Brentnall, Bamboo Jack were all present, as were Electric Pedals and Cycletricity.

There was also a theatrical dimension, with American-Norwegian theatre-troupe Super Bolt performing an ad hoc version of their Centralian Citizen's towards the end of the four days.

Brilliant weather helped make this a chilled Roots Architecture@WOMAD.

The AJ wrote it up as well.
